WEGMANN automotive - Winner of the Supplier Award for "Innovation" from Johnson Controls

Johnson Controls has decided to single out 13 suppliers from around the world in 2011 for providing outstanding services – WEGMANN automotive is the winner of the "Innovation" category for its product development work in the field of battery terminals.

"If we did not share certain values with our suppliers - such as quality, continuous improvement, innovation and sustainability - the success of Johnson Controls would inevitably suffer", reported the press release issued by this truly global player. This statement is backed up by Thorsten Thom, managing director of WEGMANN automotive, who is keen to stress again the successful cooperative relationship that the companies have enjoyed over the past 1 1/2 years while the new product has been under development. "We have been working together in the battery sector for more than 30 years", adds Thom, "and the high level of effort invested in the project by both parties has produced excellent results". The development project in question focused on the new "Robust Pol" terminal, which is what led to the mid-sized company receiving the Innovation Award this year.

WEGMANN automotive markets its battery terminal products under the Hofmann Power Solutions brand. The Hofmann brand name has become synonymous with the premium quality that WEGMANN is able to offer as an automotive supplier with development expertise. Thanks to the speedy and flexible approach, it took next to no time to develop a new product that is specifically tailored to the needs of the battery manufacturer. As a result, the new "Robust Pol" terminal is already being used in the latest generation of start-stop batteries.
